For best results, please read all instructions thoroughly prior to attempting installation of your SIR MICHAEL’S products. SIR MICHAEL’S recommends the use of approved hand, eye and ear safety equipment while performing this installation. If you have any questions concerning the installation of your SIR MICHAEL’S steel roll pan, please contact our customer service department at (714) 379-6800, Monday through Friday between the hours of 8:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. Pacific Standard Time (PST).
NOTE: Any part that is modified and/or painted are non returnable.
1. All Sir Michaels tow hitches are designed to fit behind Sir Michaels steel roll pans. Although some hitches will work with other manufactures.
2. This hitch will bolt to the two factory holes on each side of the frame. (Fig 1)
3. Install hitch from the bottom up to the frame. Hitch will bolt on the bottom side of the frame.
4. A third hole will need to be drilled in the frame towards the back. Line up the factory holes and mark the rear hole that needs to be drilled. Once marked drill a ½ inch hole. (Fig. 2) Repeat this step for other side. Once all bolts are installed, tighten down to frame. Hitch can now be accessed behind the license plate with a license plate flip, sold separately (Fig 3).
5. Sir Michaels does not supply a hitch wire plug and tow receiver due to the many different connections and drops. Most trailer and auto parts will carry those items.
*Note* This hitch is not designed for use with lifted trucks or with use of drop receivers larger than a four inch drop.
Use of larger drop receiver will void warranty.
*Please Note*: short beds using a hidden hitch will need to down size your spare tire.
To find the maximum size spare tire install your hitch and spare tire relocater.
Extend the tire hoist cable and take a measurement from the cable to the back of
hidden hitch then from hoist cable to the rear end housing or sway bar which ever is
closer to the cable. Take the shortest distance times two and subtract four, this will give you the maximum overall tire size you can run. |
