For best results, please read all instructions thoroughly prior to attempting installation of your SIR MICHAEL'S weld-on steel roll pan. SIR MICHAEL'S recommends the use of approved hand, eye and ear safety equipment while performing this installation. If you have any questions concerning the installation of your SIR MICHAEL'S steel roll pan, please contact our customer service department at (714) 379-6800, Monday through Friday between the hours of 8:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. Pacific Standard Time (PST).
NOTE: Any part that is modified and/or painted are non returnable.
Remove rear bumper from vehicle.
Test fit roll pan up to the body, lining up roll pan with the bottom of the truck. Using masking tape to protect the edges of the body during test fitting. Once the roll pan is lined up, use two #8 screws provided to attach the top of the roll pan to the back part of the bed. Reinstall the tailgate and check for clearance, making sure the tailgate opens and shuts without hitting the roll pan. NOTE: on some models the panel behind the tailgate, where the roll pan bolts to may have to be cut to clear for the license plate box on the roll pan. Aprx. Two inches may have to be cut.
After test fitting, remove the tailgate and finish mounting the roll pan. Provided with the roll pan are two metal strips. These strips mount the roll pan in place at the bottom corners. Slide the end with the two holes into the slot at the end of the roll pan. The other end attaches to the body with a #8 screw.
After test fitting, remove tailgate and roll pan from vehicle to be prepped for paint. A lite coat of body filler is used to fill the seams around the license plate and at the end of the roll pan . For good paint adhesion, sand down the roll pan completely before applying any primer or paint.
Apply some seam sealer to the back side of the roll pan where the roll pan is welded. This will help keep moisture out.
After roll pan has been color matched, Install the license plate lite using the two #8 screws(Do Not Over-Tighten Screws). Snap in the plastic nuts into the square holes in the license plate box. Install your license plate with the two phillips head screws provided.
To wire up the license plate lite, connect one wire to the parking lite wire from the taillites and the other wire must be grounded to the frame.
